Cossard Bedeau Quevri 2020
Cossard Bedeau Quevri 2020
Region: Burgundy, France
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Notes: Frederic Cossard is one of the few natural winemakers in Burgundy which is a place that can be dominated by high prices and over manipulated wines. Domaine de Chassorney was started in 1996 and since Frederic didn't come from a line of vignerons he started everything from scratch, something I have a deep respect for. The Bedeau 'Quevri' is from is line of purchased fruit from Volnay and Nuits Saint Georges that sees whole cluster fermentation that is aged in terracotta Georgian amphorae (a.k.a. qvevris) that are buried underground. Silky, perfumed floral aromatics and lush tannins this is Pinot on another level, try it and thank me later.
